Louth NatWest Closure

Ros Jackson, Labour candidate for Louth South, has been talking to Claire, the manager of NatWest Louth, about what the recently announced branch closure will mean for local people, and where their customers will be able to access local services.

There are cash and balance viewing options remaining at the Post Office, whilst some services can be done online, and the bank is looking for a venue for face to face transitional advice after the branch closes. They are keen to emphasise to the public that they want people to talk to them before they close about what they’re worried about, so they can give advice about alternative ways of doing things.

Ros’s visit was on a Tuesday so not a market day, but she saw that things things were busy in the bank nonetheless.

Labour is committed to increasing numbers of banking hubs, such as those set up in Mablethorpe and Market Rasen. These are useful for people who need to talk face to face. There are also specialist phone numbers for vulnerable customers, or for over 60s, that you can ask for at the bank.

Ros says, “It was important for me to understand what is proposed so I can help people who have questions and to be properly informed about the impact. Please let me know how you feel this change will affect you.”
